Of all the places I've travelled to recently, Barcelona offered the very best food and appealed the most to the foodie in me. From the cheapest tapas bar to the highest end restaurants, I was continually impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the creativity in the food. The price here was also quite reasonable compared to other food meccas like Paris and Tokyo. Here's my guide to the best I had while I was there.

If you have the time and the weather is good, this Michelin three-starred restaurant on the beaches of Costa Brava is well worth the 50 min trip from the city
This ultra-luxurious take on the tapas concept was one of our best meals in Barcelona. You can see the influence of the chef's famous former mentor Ferran Adria
A great Michelin-starred restaurant that's right around the corner from La Pedrera. I suggest trying their Joan Roca tasting menu if you're up for it
A convenient place for tapas near Las Ramblas/Plaza Catalunya. Great tapas and service at a reasonable price. They're also open for breakfast very early (7am)
This famous market in Las Ramblas has everything you might need for a picnic. There are also a couple famous tapas bars inside, but you'll have to wait in line
Even more inspiration for me to make my way to Barcelona!
It's impossible for me to resist this wonderful presentation.
Hi Chaz, I wish that I had seen your guide before I went to Barcelona a few years ago. I had a good time touring the Olympic Village and many churches. However, I did not have so many delicious and wonderful presentation foods like the one you recommend here.
Barcelona rocks!!! & eating out is an experience in itself! :)
