A place even the locals want to hang at, this hipster hotel oozes cool. Doug Fir for rockin' shows, spa, chalkboard doors, murals in the rooms, easy location.
Unlimited serve yourself coffee, awesome Bloody Mary's, every fav brekkie dish you can think of, outdoor fireplace, dog friendly, menu items for vegetarians too
Food cart co-op in Prost's backyard, bring the food onto their huge outdoor deck or the bar while you sip on their beers. Have a Native Bowl & a huge pilsner.
Tatted chefs whipping up culinary creations, small intimate dining room, watch them cook while you eat @ the open counter. Must try the bacon cornbread dessert.
Rounded booths for great convo w/ friends, wine barrels for standing room, wait with drink in hand, long bar counter to watch the masters @ work, awesome menu.
Outdoor covered seating, BBQ'd sausages made to order with sauces, picnic table seating, amazing brews, roll up garage doors, Desolution IPA is a must try.
As the name, truly authentic Mexican cuisine. Must have the spicy margarita and the Mole chicken - 30 different spices in their home made sauce. Cozy seating.
Warm & super cozy, collection of old phones on the wall, British pub feel and faire, extensive beer selection on tap and in the bottle (including hard to find).
Run by French husband & wife team, comfortable, lots of French & OR wines, small plates to eat, french movie nights, live music, reasonably priced, great staff.
Family & dog friendly, full bar, amazing brews, roof top BBQ during the summer, garlic fries, great bar menu, wi-fi, booths, flat screen TV's, great hoppy brews
Cool music, griddles built into table, unusual toppings, great Bloody Mary's, lots of seating, awesome eggs benedict, fun breakfast hang out, make reservations.
Very small seating, line out the door on the weekend, hangover cure, get the Reggie Deluxe, Stumptown coffee, hand squeezed orange juice, grits, can order to-go
Hands down best pho in PDX. Broth, meatballs, super fast service, tons of basil, lime and greens served with pho. Super bowl #1 with really fresh ingredients.
Tommy rocks the sandwiches hard. Pork shoulder made me almost cry. Try the banh mi for sure. Picklopolis, pie holes, side dishes, to go orders, limited seating.
English pub in SE PDX. Great late night bar food - must have the turkey pot pie (made from scratch with huge chunks of meat). Darts, good for groups, hang out.
Creole done right by natives of LA. Must try the BBQ shrimp - a roux with gulf shrimp flown in and slices of crusty bread, good selection of bourbon, nice bar.
Burgers you dream of. Expect slow service, it's part of their deal. Jukebox, walls covered in pennants. Brews on tap, game on the TV, pool, PacMan, try the Milo
Open late with beer and wine. Pairings with their desserts on the menu. Try Royale with Cheese + Roguefort 10. Heaven. Cool late night hang out, date place.
Lots of parking, seating includes old student desks, arcade games, maple bars with bacon, voodoo doughnut guys stabbed by pretzels, wedding package, ivy voodoo.
Food AND whiskey sodas are out of this world. Come hungry, leave wishing room 4 more. Outdoor seating chilly during winter, bring coat. Expect a wait, worth it.
Upstairs, art installation + food + best outdoor smoking area (tight, but you're warm and don't have to get wet). Downstairs, boogey down. Check website 4 shows
Seriously addicted to their corn pizza w/ caramelized onions. Cornmeal crust, wine, local beer on tap (including Amnesia), take out, outdoor seating. Call ahead
It's not PDX if you don't go to McMenamins. $3 movie, house microbrews, couches, pizza, have the spicy tater tots. Check out pool hall behind theater after show
Even vegans can find a cure for hangovers here. A true PDX experience - stand around outside, wait @ picnic table, coffee & limeades, & OMG waffle sandwiches.
Thanks Josh! Just a collection of my fav neighborhood haunts, most within stumbling distance. I love the Eastside of Portland and I hope you come back soon. PDX is an awesome place to live and I'm sure you miss it!

Thanks for sharing these places on nextstop. You hit on a lot of places I never visited when I lived in PDX. It's been almost a year since I left, so I'll have to head back soon. When I do, I'll be sure to consult your guide!
Welcome to nextstop!
