You want a drink, but you don't want to have to gussy up or worry about pretentious crowds. The cash flow is limited, but you can't handle another night in watching trashy reality tv...in fact, you want to watch some reality tv live and in person with your favorite beverage. I present you with my favorite dive bars in San Diego.

Great local bar with a good selection of beer, wine, and liquor. Free wi-fi, a jukebox with James Brown, and cheap pool. You can't go wrong!
Great pub with shuffleboard, ping pong, darts, pool, and foosball. Two rooms, live game coverage, and great patio. You'll never be bored or go thirsty!
I always have a great time at Open Bar - reasonable drinks, casual atmosphere, pool and foosball. If you are in your late 20's or 30's, this is a great PB bar
Up for an cheap cold one? Want to play some pool and listen to a jukebox? Usually packed with hipsters, Livewire provides cheap drafts and stiff drinks.
Mixed drinks in pint glasses? A lighted stage for karaoke? Pool tables? Friendly service? Fun dive with a straight and gay clientele that never disappoints.
Old school dive bar tucked away at the corner of Park and Adams Ave. Pool table, jukebox, and a full bar make this a great nightcap in University Heights.
Dark bar nestled among fast food and cheap sushi spots. Usually filled with clientele pre- or post-meal. Booths/bar seating, full bar offerings at low prices.
The windows make this place a lot more welcoming...but who cares when you just want a stiff drink for not a lot of dough! Jukebox and pool, but cash only.
Straight out of the 70s, Nunu's promise of a good time beckons the most casual of drinkers. Crazy Tuesdays = $2-$3 drinks! Small cafe serves greasy bar food.
