Great Restaurants @ Buenos Aires

Best of best - restaurants I've been to. #1 still is Bar Uriarte. The rest - in no particular order. Don't miss the hidden restaurants in town!

Bar Uriarte

My fav restaurant in town. One of the most varied alcohol menues. Look for Cortazar's short story under the stairs right at the entrance.

Million

Enjoy this petit maison, great bar, fine restaurant, lovely garden. It's like getting into a time machine.

Olsen

Nordic food. Try something new every time. Great drinks. Fabulous design. Book in advance!

Novecento

It's a porteƱian version of a NYC bistro. Just lovely.

Voulez-bar

Great for any time, any day. Few options, but all great.

Sucre

A great combination of food, wine alternatives, ambient, service. Same owners of Bar Uriarte.

Miranda

Easy-going. Typical local food (bbq included). Friendly. Great for lunch on weekends, too.

Grappa

Delicious thin square pizza & pasta. I love the opening ceiling.

Eh! Santino

Guys love it for Maradona...pfff. I just love their risottos. Large portions, attenti if you're ordering starters.

Nemo

Tiny and not fancy at all, but you'll find great sea food for fish fans like me.

Cafe San Juan

Reservations is a must. Just a guy and his mom, with a short list of dishes. Delicious.

Haiku

Sushi fans, here you go. Go for the ebi & spicy rolls, you won't regret it. The new location is better. I'm thankful delivery reaches Palermo!

Bereber

I love couscous and if taken in a Morrocco-kinda-resto, it tastes better! Go for the terrace in Summer time!

Sudestada

When to go? Saturday lunch. Southeast Asia in your plate.

Krishna

India meets veggan. The ambient is sooo photogenic. Have dinner barefoot.

Casa Felix in Argentina

Organic and local products from South American blend in a hidden resto, in a 5 course meal. Only 12 reservations per night. Find your new you, meet new friends.

Almacen Secreto

Regional food, from the North and South corners of Argentina. Live music and/or art exhibitions. Hidden restaurant. Reservations = must do.

Tipo Casa

Another hidden restaurant. I love the blackboard with today's menu & music to enjoy. Very few tables, make reservations! It's just a house, just any other door.

Dominga

It's white, pure. It's great food. It's kinda noisy, but ok. From mediterranean courses to sushi.

Museo Evita

I'd say that is a MUST for warmer days, the front yard is amazing. Great Italian courses.

Omm

Feels newyorkish to me. Love its toasts with brie, peppers, fried eggs on top. Great cocktails too.

Masamadre

Great organic, veggie menue. I love it for Sunday's lunch with friends.

Mineral

This is my fav pick for lunch time in the downtown area. French specialties, salads, quiches, crepes, etc. Adorable ambient or delivery to your desk.

Croque Madame

On the verge of the Museum of the Decorative Art - great open air yard. It's generally crowded, be patient or get lucky! Great for dinner or tea time.

Magendie

Been there last night, it's only 2 months old. Gorgeous white ambient. DELICIOUS nutritional menu. Grocery store to buy species, teas, and all natural products.

El Claustro (convento Santa Catalina)

Lunch time in the middle of the chaos of the city. Get lost in this convent's patio, and forget about it all.

Pipi Cucu in Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires

In Argentina, Pipi-cucu means impeccable. Say no more. Just fell in love with this place!

we at rizzoli (in NY and Milan) love your recommendations in AR. we're planning on doing another great estancias book, but should we do a more contemporary book on design and food, you should actually correspond for us.

Thank you, Luna.
Buenos Aires is missing one of those great state-of-the-art design & food books. Would love to help!
