Cha Ya Japanese

I especially like the curry udon -- it cuts right through the cold and fog of a San Francisco night.

Greens

As you'd expect, all natural organic food very well prepared and served in a beautiful setting looking out on the water at Fort Mason.

Millenium

It was a bit of a surprise to me, but this is delicious and beautiful vegan food. I especially enjoyed the grilled eggplant with melon and green curry.

Very good and inexpensive vegetarian food with 3/4 of the menu also available vegan. Excellent BBQ tofu burger, good baked potatoe with mushrooms, and vegan deserts that are out of this world. Best vegan chocolate cake I've ever had (and apparently others agree - they've received various awards for it...) very very good coconut chocolate chip cream pie (also vegan). Highly recommended. Like many vegetarian restaurants, this one is also part of a religion/cult (not suprememastertv though) - they have pamphlets and such, but don't push anything on the diners, so I didn't really mind.

Herbivore the Earthly Grill

Excellent, all-vegan restaurant with lots of italian options, sandwiches, asian food, american-style food and more. Really good deserts, including vegan donuts, carrot cake (best vegan carrot cake I've had anywhere so far). Seasoned potatoes for starters were very good - excellent seasoning on those. Mashed potatoes on the side were a bit off (too sweet) - but everything else was good to excellent. Overall, highly recommended, and fairly inexpensive for what you're getting!

Mixt Greens

Great vegan salads and vegetarian sandwiches available here. Some really good dressings & lots of fresh and organic stuff.

Whole Foods Market

Quite a few vegan and vegetarian options available in terms of the prepared hot food available here - plus of course there's the salad bar... Choices vary depending on the day, but the last two times I went there were at least 5 or 6 different hot vegan items to choose from - definitely better than many other lunch options available nearby.
